I really am getting behind on getting the journal done.
Weekend trips are coming and 2 days are eaten up because I don't have internet access.
So, I'll briefly summarize what happened from Tuesday to Friday, Today.
Tuesday, I went to the OPD once more, meeting this wonderful medical student/ part time worker Eugene. He is also a teacher who taught at secondary schools for 8 years, but now he is heading into the medical field to become a doctor. When the patient flow ebbed, we talked about Physics and chatted about our life.
Time and time again I am surprised by how much I haven't learned or experienced. Both personal and intellectal experiences are important. You get to interact with various types of people, do diverse things, and learn something different every day.
Wednesday and Today, I went to the Leprosy village, dealing with more severe patients this time. Today, I treated an elderly woman with her foot in terrible shape. Half of her foot was wounded, and much of the wound was bleeding. It was a difficult task to do, but with help of my fellow friends and advice from George, Richard's brother, I was able to treat her without much problem.
Thursday, we went to the orphanage. We gave our prepared presents for the orphans. I was so happy to see theirs faces brighten up as we entered their village. We also saw other volunteers from the U.K and the U.S., some through international organizations, some on their own. Camera flashes never stopped until we stepped into our Tro. The girls just absolutely loved the children, probably overwhelmed by some of their maternal senses haha.
Tomorrow morning at 8, we will be departing for the mountains and the monkey sanctuary. A tiring but awesome trip is waiting for us; I can already smell it.
I keep using the phrase "loads of fun." The British-ness rubbed off on me. Darn
Some of interesting things i learned
Tomato Sauce=Ketchup
chips= French fries
Biscuits= Crackers
Apparently they don't have the word "sidewalk." Wierd. Britons think it's rather stupid to tell people on which side they have to walk. Common sense they say.
Have fun to trip to mountain in this weekend. Avoid meeting with lions or snakes. Dad.
